In life, there are choices that we're forced to make everyday. They range from small such as picking what you're having for lunch, to life-changing such as choosing you're fututre career. But do we actually make decisions or are they already pre-determined? I believe that everything we do happens because of fate, due to the fact that the saying "everything happens for a reason" proves true for me and applies to Romeo and Juliet.
In Romeo and Juliet, fate plays a tragic role in both of their lives. Since the time they first meet each other, they are in love. But at the same time, it is bad because the families they belong to are enemies. Their downfalls are foreshadowed by many different characters throughout the play, including themselves. And like they predict, one event leads to another and they both end up dying in the end. Every one of those events happen for a reason. despite their tragic death, it seems to have put an end to the feud between the Capulets and Montagues while they are mourning the deaths of their children.
Personally, I do believe in fate; that everything happens for a reason. It seems that whenever I`m feeling down or unsure of something, I always seem to find a sign that shows me that better thigns will come to me down the road. I don`t necessarily know when and where somerthing good will happen, but I know that through my bad choices and experiences, , I can learn something positive from them each time. It`s fate that determines where I am today and where I will be in the future.
While it can be argued that the choices we make are because of our free will, I personally believe that everything happens for a reason. A reason that`s beyond any of our control, much like what happens in Romeo and Juliet.
